What's Next?

Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come. Psalm 71:18 NIV.

Today I ended my first year as an art teacher. It was bittersweet. We had fun and face painting today. I taught before class.

I told the students about my time before the school year. Then was in a rut about what was next. That there will be struggles. Those times can be challenging. But I prayed, and one of the school leaders approached me and asked about teaching.

The year has brought me so much joy. Some teens got upset that they had art. As the year progressed, they asked what fun assignments were following.

Some students have natural abilities. I see them having a career in art if they choose to. I thanked them for it. Then prayed they would find joy in Jesus.

I feel grateful for the opportunity and look forward to next year.

The school is about pouring into the next generation. I love that. I taught about art, animals, science, and all with the Word of God. The school denied funding so they could teach Jesus and academics. The Lord blessed the school based on those decisions. They even charge low tuition. Every parent can send their children and get a quality education.

It was a delight to teach. I have taught His Word for years now and enjoyed that. But I loved teaching Jesus and art. I cannot wait till the 2024 school year.

We must pour into the next generation. If we don’t, who will?

Thank You for teachers, Lord. Lead us as we pour into the next generation. Mold and make them into what You desire them to be. Followers of the King and sons and daughters of Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, amen.
