Under the Bus!

If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. Galatians 5:15 NIV.
People are often thrown under the bus in this world. It is a term that means to criticize and blame to gain an advantage.
Those who threw others under the bus didn't fare well in biblical history. Joseph got enslaved and then became the second-highest ruler of Egypt. Daniel got tossed into a lion's den and survived to have his accusers suffer the same fate. Haman made gallows for Mordecai only to have himself get hung on them. All of them got promoted afterward.
Jesus got nailed to the cross. Then Psalm 22 says demons mocked Him there. They had no clue it was the plan to rise again. Resurrection came back to bite them.
It can be a learning lesson to get thrown under the bus. Joseph became a better leader from it. Daniel saw protection from jealousy. Mordecai and all the Jews saw protection by God. Then salvation for the world came through Jesus. All become learning lessons.
We need to go to prayer when someone throws us there. Ask why and then forgive them. Then pray for salvation for our accusers. That is the most significant retribution. I am glad people did for me. I threw many Christians under the bus before I knew Jesus. I am saved today because they prayed. We can extend the same to our accusers.
Forgive us, Lord, for throwing people under the bus. Also, we forgive those who did that to us. Change the lives of those who hurt us. Move them on a path to salvation in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
