This is a Safe Space

“Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. Revelation 22:14-15 NIV.
All this month, I have seen people commenting that they are a safe space. People can be whoever they believe they are. Whatever sins they commit are okay, and they can feel secure with them.
The truth is, those who are entangled in sin are not in need of condemnation, but of Jesus. It's not about accepting or rejecting certain behaviors, but about recognizing our need for Him. When we claim to be in a protected place while still embracing sin, we are walking in dangerous territory.
One day, eternity will be awesome. It will be the ultimate nontoxic space. People with a relationship with the Lord will gather and worship Him—a beautiful place of happiness. Then there will be another place.
Outside are those who separated themselves from God and never proclaimed Jesus as Lord. Those who sinned and supported sinners will find solace together, but none of them will enter the kingdom.
They get to embrace sin and secure space while here. Then, they can live and do what they choose. They go against God and His ways. They embrace and regard sinful behaviors as safe instead of embracing Jesus and His ways. They pretend that the Lord is okay with their behaviors. They even create dangerous churches to push progressive ways.
Life is short, and eternity is coming. We should share the love of Jesus instead of taking pride in sin. Then, if people call us names or worse, at least we share the truth. They might one day find safety in a place where we can all join in eternity with the Lord.
Change the mindsets of those who embrace sin, Lord. Get people to understand the severity of eternity before it’s too late. Open their hearts, Lord, that they may share in eternity and that place. In Jesus’ name, amen.
