The Sin of Spin.

ree

The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy. Proverbs 12:22 NIV.

A man became a prominent leader that cared for people. He helped the poor. They also provided health and provision. The masses followed the man because of the love they saw. He cared.

Then the swamp overflowed. People used to obey them. Shady leaders that robbed the nation. The man revealed their dishonesty.

The man remained unyielding despite attempts at corruption. Efforts failed to win him over. Their exploitation was plain. Their bribes failed.

So, they brought the sin of spin.

They used their corrupt behaviors against him. Every sleazy dealing they made got turned. They brought false charges and indictments to bring condemnation. It became a spin. The swamp's perverted actions towards the populace were reversed to the man. He faced opposition. Some of the public believed the spin.

Many refused to turn on the man. They got spun too. Leaders flipped persecution to everyone who did not believe their lies. The man's followers faced criticism and curses for not trusting the swamp. They got ridiculed for their belief in the man. Mistreatment overflowed from the marsh.

The misleaders couldn't handle the man anymore. Then, they succeeded in their plots. The innocent man died. His followers mourned the death. But something extraordinary took place.

The man rose from the dead. A religious Pharisee swamp failed to control the lies. They tried to cover up His resurrection in a last-ditch effort. That failed. Jesus the Man succeeded.

The sin of spin still goes on today. Influentials smear the righteous. Then make innocents look guilty. It went back to the devil's deception to defame Jesus. Now it continues in politics, Hollyweird, and the News. Even everyday life. Time to come clean. We can get spun or spin others. Let’s pray the deceptions get revealed.

Let a breakthrough come forth, Lord. Reveal deception in our hearts. Lead us to confession of any sin of spin. Let truth reign in our nation. Cleanse our hearts and lives. In Jesus’ name, amen.
