Lukewarm Warriors

ree

So, because you are lukewarm-neither hot nor cold-I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Revelation 3:16 NIV.

People call the church I attend a cult. They got offended by the teachings there. The church follows primary doctrine. They don’t condone living against Jesus. On the contrary, it impressed me by how Christlike people are there. Over half of them have God-fearing grit.

Every church has its lukewarm warriors. Married Christians flirt and cheat with other believers. Others brag online about drunkenness. More condone sinful behaviors. They stand and prophesy or read Scripture at the front. Then display a Christlike manner. It is the nature of the beast. Most leave offended when confronted with their sin. Then they fire back and attack.

I have assembled for a long time. There has been a movement called the seeker-friendly one. It does not work but makes pastors popular. Then raises up lukewarm warriors who surrender to demonic culture. They attack genuine believers when uncomfortable verses arise.

People mock me for being an elder of small congregations. The people I led received every verse. All uncomfortable accounts. Every politically incorrect exegetical paragraph.

Sold-out Christians do not tippy-toe around. We want God-fearing grit. I pray we all do.

The verse above means to be expelled. This is sobering. We cannot walk the fence with God.

There is nothing wrong when Christians fail. That is the basis of God’s Mess. We surrender and confess our faults. The Word says it’s when sin becomes a habit. That is when we need to reevaluate our salvation. When we exhibit continued inappropriateness, but we can grow accustomed to being Christian. We need to look at actions. Then stop being lukewarm. We are to be sold out, Christ-following soldiers.

Help us see our faults, Lord. Lead us to the habits of prayer and daily reading Your Word. Have the fear of You be our wisdom walk. In Jesus’ name, amen.
