Ill Communication

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29 NIV.
We can avoid conflicts with a simple discussion. A great example is the movie Captain America, Civil War. The Avengers would’ve never had a war if Steve Rogers opened his mouth. He could’ve said there were other winter soldiers in Siberia. Then Rhody wouldn’t have gotten shot. There wouldn't have been any issues. They should’ve taken out Zemo as a team. Problem solved!
I cannot be the only one who struggles with communicating when a situation seems to go well. Later, it was discovered that it didn't occur. The impression felt negative, not positive. Regretful for being misunderstood when reflecting.
Good intentions can get blown out of proportion. People can have contrasting views on their circumstances. Our efforts were contradicted by what others saw. They became huge messes.
The way we communicate is fragile. There were many times a text, social media comment, or action on my part got blown up. That when I saw nothing wrong, someone else took it the opposite way.
I know I have made those mistakes. I acted with good intentions, but it was misinterpreted. I must review them and pray for improvement in similar situations. Because we do not intend to hurt someone only to discover we did.
It is ill communication. I know it makes me want to be better. Increase my situational awareness. Then, pray and act in a more Christlike manner. Misinterpretations add to life's difficulties. We should be more observant. Then, move forward in love.
Help us with our communication, Lord. Help us become more empathetic. Then, understanding people's self-worth needs. Lead us into this. In Jesus' name, amen.
