God Chasers

Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near. Isaiah 55:6 NIV.

Christians get stuck in a procurement mentality. Prayer becomes a rut. It's about God's potential. They desire to get and not God.

We need to be sure we are in God, especially in big decisions. I moved to Louisiana, but I did not know a year earlier. My destination made me clueless at the end of 2017. There were options, and Louisiana never crossed my mind. I prayed three months before the Lord prompted and confirmed it.

Then, I did as God instructed. I did this because of who He is and the attributes He has shown me. He has proven his faithfulness.

I sold everything or gave it away. Then, I drove 1200 miles to a place I had never lived. Jesus is the reason for my faith in all this.

I continued to pray after getting robbed three times. It got difficult to understand amid three robberies. My stuff, my car, and my dog got taken. But I trusted God's plan, not the plan itself.

I didn't see the end goal. It led me to my wife in Marshall, Texas. Jesus and I took this arduous journey. I was with Him and never wavered.

It was not because I followed. I was led by Jesus to where life is. I love Him, and he has never steered me wrong in life. It is faith toward God, not faith for God.

The knowledge of God's identity surpasses what we receive from Him. Faith is not about getting; it is about God. We pursue our Lord, not Christian benefits and rewards.

Teach us never to forget Your presence is best, Lord—the osmosis of joining in fellowship with You. Lead us into a relationship connection like that. In Jesus’ name, amen.
