Divine Signs

ree

(It takes eleven days to go from Horeb to Kadesh Barnea by the Mount Seir road) Deuteronomy 11:2 NIV.

I love the movie Signs with Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix. I used it to teach sovereignty in lessons. It was a well-written film. It taught us that God has a sovereign plan.

Secular scholars love to point to the above verse and say that the account of Moses was fictional. When it is a story of providence. God allowed an eleven-day journey to last forty years.

Pharaoh died in the Red Sea. God’s people stayed in the wilderness for forty years. His son Thutmose responded and sent armies into the promised land. They wiped out most of the people. They never found them and left. The Israelites entered to occupy the land after Egypt destroyed it.

God can make no sense. He prompted my spirit that I would lose everything in 2017. I did. Then, He prompted me to sell and give away everything and travel 1200 miles. I trusted and did. It made no sense at first. He also prompted most attendees at church to come here. They came from California, North Carolina, Washington, and other states.

Setbacks can be blessings—some we may not see until eternity. We must be in tune with Him and His plan. Then, we allow Jesus to move us in His sovereign plan. He sees the end from the beginning.

Lead us, Lord. Direct us in your plan and ways. Guide us daily to where we need to be. In Jesus’ name, amen.
