Busy Busy BUSY!

People love to add movie and television quotes to their lingo. I have some myself. One quote I say is from Professor Hinkle in the 1969 classic Frosty the Snowman: BUSY BUSY BUSY!

A weapon satan uses is busyness. I saw it ruin relationships. We all get caught up in it, even me. It can keep us so focused that we take our eyes off spouses, family, and Jesus. Too much busyness affects relationships.

I spend a lot of time with my wife. We work and have fun together, which is fantastic. But I have no one else. I try to spend time with people and others, but we can get so busy that we forget to make connections.

I attended a friend's surprise birthday party- a Texas Hold 'em night. It was fun. I hung out and talked with the men of God. We played cards and laughed. Connecting with other godly men and engaging in wonderful conversations about Jesus was pleasant.

Busyness can cause loneliness. Men need other men. Moses had Joshua. David had Jonathan. Even Jesus had Peter. But busyness can get in our way. I do have a wonderful life. My wife is fun to be with. I teach a lot. Work alongside male friends. But we can feel something is missing. Maybe we are too busy to seek godly comradery.

Keep us from disconnecting from others, Lord. Lead us not to be too busy to connect. We surrender ourselves and our lives to You. We ask You to guide us to love You and others more. In Jesus’ name, amen.
